Poker is a card game where players compete against one another to create the best hand. It is played in casinos, on the Internet, in private homes and in poker clubs. In some variants, Wild Cards are used.<\/p>\n
Each player is dealt five cards. Two cards are face up. The first card is the dealer, who deals the rest of the cards to each of the players in turn.<\/p>\n
Players can discard up to three of their cards. If a player has a hand that is good enough to beat the other players’ hands, he or she can decide to bluff.<\/p>\n
The player with the highest hand wins the pot. Ties break when there are more than one player with the same type of hand. When there are two identical hands, each of the hands wins half of the pot.<\/p>\n
Poker has evolved into a number of different variants. A popular form is Texas Hold’Em.<\/p>\n
Poker is generally played with a deck of 52 cards. Each of the cards in the deck is ranked from Ace to Ten. All poker hands are made up of five cards. Some games include a “wild” card, which may be any suit.<\/p>\n
One player is obligated to make the first bet. The next player has the right to fold or raise. Normally, the first player to make the bet is referred to as the active player.<\/p>\n
